![]() ![]() The NIST-led 5G Millimeter-Wave Channel Model Alliance is taking a much longer vision as it seeks to coordinate development of a federation of channel models that will support the millimeter-wave developer community across the entire product life cycle. Most organized efforts to develop channel models are relatively short term and are designed mostly to support concept assessment and standards development. We conclude that a federation of channel models is required in order to meet these diverse set of requirements. ![]() Here we consider the needs and requirements for channel models across the product life cycle and divide them into three distinct types based upon their role, generality, application, computational complexity, primary stake holders and time available to develop. The site is used by scientists, engineers, educators and the general public. This can lead to frustration within the developer community as channel models suitable for use at a particular stage may not be available. The NIST Chemistry WebBook is a site on the Internet ( that provides convenient access to a variety of physical and chemical property data on well defined chemical species and reactions. However, the distinctive needs and requirements for the channel models used at each stage of the cycle are rarely acknowledged. ![]() This concludes the demonstration of using the NIST Chemical WebBook to determine the density of a gas. Wireless channel models play a critical role at all stages of the product life cycle, from standards development to network deployment. In this case, 20.000 psi and 0.14613 lbm/ft3. ![]()
